Tensile strength: after the board products are put on the wall, they are directly faced with the external forces such as the gravity and wind force of the insulation board system itself. Reasonable process structure and supporting materials (such as all kinds of mortar and mesh) play a key role in solving the tensile capacity of the insulation board system. On the market, the insulation board system usually adopts the point sticking method, full sticking method and the combination of sticking nails. In the insulation system of rock wool board, EPS board, extruded board, polyurethane board and phenolic board, to ensure the tensile strength of the system, in addition to the board itself, the quality of mortar used in combination with the board must meet the requirements, some of the surfaces are easy to be powdered or the insulation boards with poor surface adhesion and drawing force are most likely to have problems.
Panel bulk density: the panel bulk density is an important index to determine the thermal conductivity, strength and dimensional stability of the panel. In general, the thermal conductivity can be reduced by reducing the bulk density of thermal insulation materials, but some thermal conductivity of thermal insulation products will decrease with the increase of bulk density. In the current market, the bulk density of many plate products fails to meet the standard requirements, which affects the strength and dimensional stability of the plate products, leaving potential safety hazards.
Stability of board size: after the insulation board is put on the wall, if the size of the board is not stable, it will make the insulation board system more prone to crack and deformation, leaving a potential safety hazard. Some of the size instability is caused by the inherent factors of the insulation material itself, which can be achieved by adding related raw materials to improve the performance. Under the same standard requirements, after rock wool board, EPS board, extruded board, polyurethane board and phenolic board are applied to the wall, the dimensional stability of EPS board is relatively good.
Water absorption of board: the water absorption of heat preservation board products is greatly different due to the different composition and internal structure of the material itself. If the products with high water absorption are applied to the wall, the thermal conductivity of the insulation board system will increase slowly, resulting in the insulation effect of the system becoming worse and worse, and the overall quality will also have problems. Among rock wool board, EPS board, Extrusion board, polyurethane board and phenolic board, EPS board is the most stable and non absorbent.
